The Blue Yonder
This is Marisa's latest musical venture, joining established local band, The Blue Yonder, playing flute and singing harmonies. She joins long-standing members, her drummer from Her Sunday Best, Rolie Dwyer and long time friend from Blues Train days, Ado Osbourne in this exciting new line-up. This is an inspiring turn of events for Marisa having not played the flute with any regularity since her late teens.
The Blue Yonder cook up an all-original musical casserole with influences that include a pinch of the Go Betweens, a teaspoon of Led Zeppelin, half an ounce of Cruel Sea with a twist of Leo Kottke, all blended with a healthy dollop of flute-fuelled-slide-guitar-tub-thumping folk rock, their soaring harmonies and tasty melodies evoke panoramic images of the Australian landscape, and a recipe that’s guaranteed to feed an empty dance floor.
